Leadership Focused on Patient-Centered Care

Newport News Behavioral Health Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Whinnett to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Newport News Behavioral Health Center, effective September 6, 2022. In this role, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, in all aspects including their Psychiatric Residential Facility and Inpatient Psychiatric unit.

Thomas joins Newport News Behavioral Health Center from Behavioral Health Group where he served as Regional Director.

I’m so looking forward to being a part of this great team and having a positive impact on the youth and families we serve.”

Thomas is continuing his education with Longwood University where he is pursuing his MBA. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Christopher Newport University. He is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and has a BA from Christopher Newport University
