What to Bring and Not to Bring
The following documents are needed at the time of admission to Newport News Behavioral Health Center:
- Birth certificate
- Immunization records
- Insurance information
- Social Security card
- Custody order if applicable
- IEP with eligible minutes if applicable
The following items are not allowed in the building (please note: this is not an exhaustive list):
- Drugs or paraphernalia
- Guns/knives/sharp objects
- Over-the-counter medications
- Alcohol
- Cigarettes or other tobacco products (chew, dip, etc.)
- Matches
- Cigarette lighters
- Lighter fluid
- Glue products
- Drug and sexually oriented materials
- Nude or erotic posters
- Sexual devices
- Satanic materials (some material may be allowed if considered a choice of religion)
- Inappropriate reading material
- Tapes with explicit lyrics
- Tools
- Paint cans
- Bleach
- White Out
- Fishing line
- Needles, pins, thumbtacks
- Firecrackers
- Razors
- Extension cords
- Scissors
- Metal objects
- Wire coat hangers
- Wire (includes paper clips)
