Acute Inpatient Treatment for Adolescents

Acute Inpatient Treatment for Adolescents

Inpatient Services for Adolescents

Newport News Behavioral Health Center, located in Newport News, VA, provides crisis intervention support to children and adolescents. Our residents experience distress due to a broad range of psychiatric symptoms that require immediate acute inpatient care. Treatment includes individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, medication management and psychoeducation. We help coordinate ongoing care to connect patients and families in crisis to appropriate aftercare services.

A brief therapy approach focusing on stabilizing crisis situations serves males and females and provides support to families. Our freestanding facility is located on a rural campus setting, providing a natural and soothing environment. The facility features activity and group rooms, outdoor courtyards, a dining area, patient rooms with individual bathrooms and recreation areas.

Admission and Assessment Process

Before a child or adolescent can be admitted to one of our inpatient programs, we conduct a no-cost, confidential assessment. We conduct the assessment to discover the youth’s treatment needs and determine the most appropriate program for them.

Visit our admissions page to learn more about the admission and assessment process. There you will find resident criteria, which varies by program, and required documents.

We accept most private insurance and Medicaid.
