Newport News Behavioral Health Center is a residential treatment facility (RTF) that serves boys and girls, ages 11 to 18. Our treatment services are intended to help residents address psychiatric and substance use issues. We encourage youth to explore their feelings and develop positive behaviors to use at home and in their community.
All of our treatment programs are designed to provide residents with quality behavioral healthcare in a secure environment that promotes healing. The goal is to provide children and teens with the skills to cope with their problems. We also help our residents form effective learning strategies they may use when they return to school.
The 108-bed facility is secure and comfortable, so residents can wholly focus on recovery. Our new acute care facility is located next to the RTF. It serves to stabilize services to children and teens, ages 8 to 17, who suffer from a mental health crisis.
This is all made possible by a compassionate and dedicated staff that puts the wellbeing of our residents above all else. Treatment teams are comprised of professionals from various fields, and they meet residents at their level to address their specific needs. Every resident is an important member of their own treatment team.
We strive to provide a stable environment for those impacted by behavioral health challenges. Our vision is to be the provider of choice for behavioral health services through service excellence and compassionate care.
All of our treatment programs and services are founded upon the virtues of integrity, dependability, excellence and accountability. We utilize these core values to improve our residents’ likelihood of successful recovery.
