Our Community Involvement

Newport News Behavioral Health Center is dedicated not only to helping our patients recover and lead better lives, but we are also actively involved in giving back to our community. Some of the community work we do includes:

  • Attend local community Holiday Activities
  • College and University tours and On-Site Visits
  • Food Drive Donations to Local Non-Profit Organizations, including the Transitions Domestic Violence Shelter
  • Participate in Angel Tree gift-giving donations to needy families and children
  • Support Holiday Church Events to Feed the Homeless
  • Participate and Support NAMI Walks and fundraiser, and local Affiliate, October 2019
  • Great Expectations Education Program partnership with Thomas Nelson Community College for foster care youth
  • Donation made to American Cancer Society. Team participation in walk for Breast Cancer Awareness, October 2019
  • Law Enforcement United
  • Bacon Street Youth and Family Services (non-profit organization)
  • Four Oaks Day Service Center
  • Virginia Peninsula Out of Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk
